While it is probably the easiest, and some say the most scenic Simpson crossing, it is still a crossing, which means that we will have to cope with, and overcome whatever the track conditions might be on the day. You will need a minimum of an extra 30 litres of fuel carried safely, plenty of water, and expect some serious corrugations, but not everyone can say that they have crossed the Simpson north to south in a Sprinter van. We may also consider making a Desert Recovery policy compulsory for this one. That is nearly $ 700 EXTRA, but it might save you $ 10,000, or more, if your pesky electronics throw a tantrum. We will also travel through the spectacular wide open spaces of far western Queensland, and venture onto the notorious Plenty Highway, and of course take a picture outside the Birdsville pub.
