Who we are

We are James and Jodie, and you can see our Sprinter Van adventures on YouTube channel @ WeHitTheRoad. We have learned a lot about what these vans can and cannot do. We know that a properly prepared van can cross the Simpson, but we also know that it is a different experience than crossing in a regular 4x4. We’ve done that too. That is why most Tag-Along tours will exclude your van, especially if you have an Awd van, and if you are allowed to participate in a regular tour, you might just end up feeling like the kid at school wearing the wrong uniform. We can give you a more relaxed Simpson desert experience, not necessarily a full crossing, but an adventure tailored to your stock fuel tank, as well as maybe giving you the confidence to attempt something a bit more serious further down the track.

Because of our YouTube exploits we get lots of questions about tyre pressures, crossing sand dunes, and about their Sprinter’s suitability in off road terrain. Answering questions about these things is one thing, but you getting to experience it first hand is unbeatable. That is why we have decided to see if any of you want to tag along, to learn, and enjoy beautiful wild places, with like minded adventurers.

Both of us have a deep love for exploration and adventure, and for the beauty of nature, and the special serenity that only the outback can deliver.
